Define radius of gyration, derive an exlression for it? |
Answer» The radius of gyration of a body rotating about an axis is defined as the distance between axis of rotation and the point at which entire mass of the body can be supposed to be concentrated so as to give the same moment of inertia as that of body about given axis. I=MK^2<br>In simple words...Radius of gyration is defined as the distance from the axis of rotation to a point where the total mass of the body is supposed to be concentrated, so that the moment of inertia about the axis may remain the same. Simply, gyration is the distribution of the components of an object. Derivation is little bit hard for me to send. Pics cant be send by students | |
