Define Ripple Start?

Answer»

Ripple start is the process used for restarting the CLUSTER of WebSphere ADMINISTRATION server. The JVM is at first stopped by it and then again started with the help of Ripple Start. HOWEVER, only one JVM can be restarted at a single time. Like for example, if in a cluster a total of 5 JVMs are present and if Ripple Start is used, it will first close the first JVM and then again restart it. In this way, it will be consecutively closing and restarting one JVM after another.
