Answer» (i) Biodiversity is the occurrence of different types of ecosystems, different species of organisms with the whole range of their variant and genes adapted to different climates, environments along with their interactions and processes. Biodiversity refers to the sum total of diversity that exists at all levels of biological organization. (ii) Eutrophication refers to the excessive growth of algae, plants and animals in water bodies due to nutrient enrichment particularly with nitrogen and phosphorus. (iii) PAR is photosynthetically active radiation. The part of visible spectrum of light that contributes most to the process of photosynthesis is PAR. |
