1.

Derive dimension and SI unit of magnetic flux.

Answer»

Like electric, flux, magnetic flux is proportional to the number of magnetic field lines passing through a surface. It is denoted by ϕB.

Mathematically, ϕBvector(B . A) = B .A cos 0

Where ϕB  is the magnetic flux through a plane surface of area A placed in a uniform magnetic field B.θ is the-angle between (vector B and vector A). Equation (i) can be extended-to curve surfaces and non-uniform fields.

S .I. unit of magentic flux is weber (Wb)

1 Wb = 1 tesla. m2

The dimensional formula of magnetic flux is [ML2T-2A-1].
