Answer» To force a recombinant DNA into host cells, a cloning vector must possess the following characteristics: (b) Selectable marker: It selectively permits only the growth of the transformants by identifying or selecting the transformants and eliminating non-transformants. (c) Cloning sites: These are the sites which a vector requires to link a foreign or alien DNA for commonly used restriction enzyme, e.g., restriction sites in E. Coli cloning vector includes Hindi II, Ecor I, BamW II, Sal I, Prul etc. |
