In the evening of the singing and dancing programme, Dhapu led Geeta quietly to a place from where she could see the programme of the famous female singer from Jodhpur. Dhapu told Geeta that she sang for men only. Geeta heard a woman clear her throat. Geeta tried to see the singer through the window, but failed. The singer raised her voice to the right pitch. It was clear, melodious and sweet. She started with a song of chivalry. It recalled the bravery of the Rajput warriors ready to go to the battlefield. The song echoed through the hall and the heart of the hearers.

नृत्य और संगीत के प्रोग्राम की संध्या को धापू, गीता को एक ऐसे स्थान पर चुपचाप ले गई जहाँ से वह जोधपुर की प्रसिद्ध गायिका का प्रोग्राम देख सके। धापू ने गीता को बताया कि वह केवल पुरुषों के लिये गाती है। गीता ने एक स्त्री को गला साफ करते सुना। गीता ने गायिका को खिड़की से देखने की कोशिश की परन्तु असफल रही। गायिका ने अपनी आवाज को उचित लय तक उठाया। वह आवाज स्पष्ट तथा मधुर थी। उसने वीरता के गीत से शुरू किया। उसके गीत ने राजपूत योद्धाओं की वीरता की याद दिला दी जब वे रणभूमि में जाने को तैयार होते थे। गीत पूरे भवन में और श्रोतागणों के हृदय में गूंज उठा।
