1. All of its componenets are mixed uniformly throughout.
2. There is no CLEAR BOUNDARY of separation between it's COMPONENTS.
3. The components cannot be seen by NAKED eyes.
4. EXAMPLE: alcohol in water, sugar in water, salt in water etc

Heterogeneous:
1. Its components are not mixed uniformly throughout.
2. There are visible boundaries of separation between it's components.
3. The components can be seen with naked eyes.
4. example: sand in soil, etc
