Differentiate between a pure substance and a mixture give two example of each |

Answer» -A pure substance is made up of only ONE type of atom, or molecule. Examples: water. oxygen, argon (Ar atoms). WHEREAS, a MIXTURE is made of up of more than one type of atom or molecule. Examples: Smog, Salad, Sea water, etc. -Composition of a pure substance is fixed, but the composition of a mixture can vary. - Pure Substances are homogeneous but mixtures can either be homogeneous or HETEROGENEOUS in nature. -Examples of pure substances are water. oxygen, argon (Ar atoms). whereas, a mixture is made of up of more than one type of atom or molecule.
