Differentiate between the Prehistoric and Historic Periods on the basis of Art forms |
Answer» Prehistoric art stressed the religious and mystical aspects of art; it’s effect on the viewer engaged deep emotions and brought one into a sense of union with the universe. Historic periods seem to have used art to glorify, praise or otherwise validate the ruling class. Modern art such as the Impressionists was a study of the means and ways, deconstructing the methodology into systems and styles, while creating a spiritual work that enthralled us. Postmodernism is based on self-loathing with the idea that if one rejects oneself new discoveries are to be made; postmodernism may have led to Donald Trump’s post-truth era. Negating aesthetics has been disastrous. Katherine Brooks, Senior Arts & Culture Editor, The Huffington Post, wrote that “yes art can be boring but maybe that’s a good thing”, shamefully trying to justify the loss of vision of this time. Now there’s a reaction to the failure of postmodernism that is just at it’s beginning, that will likely bring back the enchantment and wonder of art, sorely missed | |
