Let the present ages of Salim and Arman be 6x and 8x years respectively.

⇒ (6x) × (8x) = 192

⇒ 48x²= 192

⇒ 4 = x²

Present age of Salim = 6 × 2 = 12 years and after 4 years will be 16 years.

Present age of Arman = 8 × 2 = 16 years and after 4 years will be 20 years.

⇒ Ratio of their ages after 4 years = 16 : 20

⇒ 4 : 5

∴ The data in both the statement I and II together are necessary to answer.
