| Answer» They change because we continue to learn. For example, when we learned how to extract DNA and test it, we discovered we were wrong about how we’d classified many plants and animals. As we’ve learned more about mental illness, we’ve had to reclassify.Classification helps us learn, but we should always understand that the present system is temporary. We’ll continue to change it as we learn more. Because there’s always more to discover, our classification systems will continue to change. | |
