Education : On one hand where they UNIFIED the education system, centralised it and made what are today's schools, on the other they destroyed the heritage of ancient Indian literature and it's Gurukul system. Infrastructure : The infrastructural DEVELOPMENT under the British was tremendous, which gave the industrial ADVANCEMENT it's big BREAK, yet again the cost for it was mass deforestation. Scientific advancement was definitely a boon which came to India under the British era.
