♦ These decisions gradually increase the feeling of alienation among the Srilankan Tamils.
♦ The Srilankan Tamils launched parties and struggles for the recognition of Tamil as an official language and also for EQUAL opportunities in security, education and jobs.
♦ By 1980, several political organisation were formed demanding for an independent Tamil (estate) .
♦ People were protesting and organising RALLIES against the oppressive law .
♦ It soon turned into civil war.
