Answer» This sonnet which has been entitled “On His Blindness” the poet develops the sense of pessimism in his heart and mentality about life. He gives up hope and becomes worried about his further life which will become difficult without his eyes. It also shows his distrust in God and he realises himself an unfortunate person and begs before God to return his eyesight once again. यह सॉनेट जिसे “ऑन हिज ब्लाइन्डनेस” शीर्षक दिया गया है कवि अपने दिल और दिमाग में जीवन के प्रति निराशा की भावना विकसित करता है। वह आशा छोड़ देता है और चिन्तित हो जाता है अपने आगे के जीवन के बारे में जो कि बिना नेत्र-ज्योति के कठिन होगा। यहाँ कवि का भगवान में अविश्वास झलकता है। वह स्वयं को बदकिस्मत महसूस करता है तथा भगवान के सामने अपनी आँखों की रोशनी एक बार पुनः लौटाने की भीख माँगती है। |
