Answer» Head : The acrosome contains hydrolytic enzymes which dissolves the egg membrane for fertilisation. Middle piece : It contains mitochondria that provide energy for the movement of the sperms. Tail: It helps in the motility of sperms that helps for the swimming of sperms in a liquid medium. The sperm head becomes embedded in the Sertoli cells : See Q.19.,Delhi Board, Set-I,2008.
