If 10 is reduced from 8x then 8x – 0

6 times of a number = 6 × x = 6x

If 4 is added to 6x then 6x + 4

According to the sum,

8x – 10 = 6x + 4

⇒ 8x – 6x = 4 + 10

⇒ 2x = 14

⇒ x = 7

∴ The required number = 7
