In our country reservation is undertaken to address the historic oppression, inequality and discriminations faced by those communities and to give these communities a place. The system of reservation in India comprises a series of AFFIRMATIVE action measures such as reserving access to seats in the various government jobs and to enrollment in higher educational INSTITUTIONS. Here in our country, a FIXED percentage of seats are reserved only for categories of people largely for SC/ST.
