Answer» HCl is a binary compound of two non-metals. It PRODUCES H+ and Cl- ions only in aquous solution, wherein water acts as a BASE. In its normal gaseous state it exists as a simple, discrete covalent molecule, though the H-Cl BOND has CONSIDERABLE polarity. It has no features of an ionic SUBSTANCE. |
