Explain briefly the effect of temperature on Le-Chatelier's principle. |
|
Answer» SOLUTION :The forward reaction is exothermic and hence the backward reaction is endothermic. If the temperature is increased at equilibrium, the system TRIES to decrease the temperature by absorbing HEAT. The backward reaction which is endothermic GETS favoured. Equilibrium is shifted to the left SIDE. If the temperature is decreased, the system tries to increase the temperature by liberating heat. The forward reaction (exothermic) gets fovoured. Equilibrium is shifted to the right side. |
