1.

Explain heat of neutralisation with an example.

Answer»

Solution :Heat of neutralisation is the change in enthalpy produced when ONE gram equivalent weight of an ACID is neutralised by one gram equivalent weight of a base in a dilute solution.
EXAMPLE : `HCl(AQ) + NaOH(aq) rarr NaCl(aq) + H_(2)O , Delta H = -57.3 kJ`.
