1.

Explain law af multiple proportion with one example

Answer»

In chemistry, the law of multiple proportions is one of the basic laws of stoichiometry used to establish the atomic theory, alongside the law of conservation of mass and the law of definite proportions. There are compounds made up of the same elements, like carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Both compounds are made of carbon (C) atoms and oxygen (O) atoms; however, the ratios of carbon and oxygen in each compound is different. This illustrates thelaw of multiple proportions.
