Explain New Agricultural Strategy as adopted in 1961 in India. |
| Answer» NAS is also called seed-water-fertilizer technology. It required the use of high yielding variety (HYV) of seeds, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides in a given proportion. It also required regular supply of water. NAS is also called Green Revolution. In the beginning it was adopted only by affluent states like Punjab, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh. Gradually other states also adopted when government provided loans and subsidies to those who could not initially afford it. | |
