Explain the different motion of the Earth. |
|
Answer» The motion of the Earth around the Sun is called a revolution. It revolves around the sun at a distance of 150000000 km (app.) in a nearly circular orbit. It takes 365.25 days to complete one revolution around the Sun. Earth spins about its own imaginary axis like a top, from west to east. This motion of the Earth about its own axis, is called rotation. Earth completes one rotation about its own axis in 24 hours. Days and nights are formed due to the rotation of Earth about its own axis, in 24 hours. Seasons are caused due to the revolution of Earth around the Sun and the tilting of its axis of rotation. |
