They massacred the\xa0king’s guards and held the king himself as a hostage for\xa0several hours.\xa0Later, the National Assembly voted to imprison the\xa0royal family. Then elections were held. From now on,\xa0all men of 21 years and above, regardless of wealth, got\xa0the right to vote. The newly elected assembly was called\xa0the Convention.
