First stage of green revolution is called the stage of centralization. It was limited to crop of wheat and rice. In this stage, the productivity of wheat increased rapidly, and so it is also called the stage centralized on wheat crop, and it remained centralised to Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and western India.
