Answer» AnswerThe process of synthesis of ATP through chemiosmosis is as follows - ATP synthesis linked to develop the proton GRADIENTS across thylakoid membrane.
- Protons are produced by splitting of water.
- The proton accumulate towards INSIDE of membrane that is in the lumen
- This will result the development of proton gradient across the thylakoid membrane.
- These are 2 parts of ATP ASE enzymes one called F0 and other F1
- F0 is embedded in the membrane. It forms the trans membrane.
- F1 is protrude on the outer surface of thylakoid membrane.
- ATP ase has a membrane channel that allows diffusion of protons back across the membrane.
- This releases ENERGY to activate the ATP ase and that will CATALYSES the formation of ATP.
