1.	Explain the structure of mitochondria.
Answer» Mitochondria occur in various shapes, such as, cylindrical, oval, and rod shapes. Each mitochondrion is bound by a double membrane. The outer membrane is smooth while inner membrane produces finger like projection called cristae. The inner membrane encloses a mass known as matrix. Mitochondria are the site of respiration in a cell.
