In this poem poet remembers the past of mother by looking into the picture and recognizing her enjoyable moments with betty,dolly and her uncle at beach holiday. Poets mother was 12 years old with sweet,shinning and laughing face. In this poem "and the sea ,which appears less changed"\xa0here is compared to human life\xa0as poet mother\xa0is no more after 4or 5 decades ;she is in grief\xa0,pain and sorrow about the death of her mom.she compares human life with sea as sea is perrenial,immortal but humal life is mortal and short-lived . Since\xa0poet visits the same place where her mother had spent her holiday where she find everything as previous that was before in photo frame. Now at the end of the scene she finds she is left alone leaving all smiles,enjoment ,togetherness and affection behind.\xa0ONLY\xa0the THING LEFT\xa0WITH HER IS\xa0SADNESS,pain, GRIEF AND lONELINESS
