There are two types of stress: 

(a) Acute stress 

(b) Chronic stress. 

(a) Acute stress: It is a short term stress and does not harm much. 

(b) Chronic stress: It has a wearing effect on people. It can become a very serious health risk if it continues for a long period of time.
