While, LVN is a Licensed Vocation Nurse, and can COLLECT DATA on a patient and carries out clinical duties under the SUPERVISION of licensed physician or RN. Both has to pass a national licensing exam- for LVN it is NCLEX-PN and for RNS it is NCLEX-RN. Without holding the certificate of LVN one cannot work as vocational nurse.
