1.

Ferromagnetic materials does not show hysteresis.(a) True(b) FalseThis question was addressed to me during an online interview. My doubt is from Magnetic Properties of Materials in division Magnetism and Matter of Physics – Class 12

Answer»

Right choice is (b) False

To elaborate: Ferromagnetic materials do show hysteresis. When a ferromagnetic material is magnetized in one direction, it will not relax back to ZERO magnetization when the imposed MAGNETIZING field is removed. The phenomenon of hysteresis in ferromagnetic materials is the result of two EFFECTS ➔ rotation of magnetization and changes in size or NUMBER of magnetic DOMAINS.
