The general form of the equation of a circle is:

(x – h)2 + (y – k)2 = r2 …..(1)

Where, r is the radius of the circle and (h, k) is the centre of the circle.

Here, r = 4, h = 0 and k = 0

Equation (1)⇒

(x – 0 )2 + (y – 0)2 = (4)2

or x2 + y= 16

or x2 + y– 16 = 0

Which is the required equation.
