Find the roots of the equation 9x2 – 3x – 2 = 0.

Given,

9x²– 3x – 2 = 0.

⇒ 9x²– 3x – 2 = 0.

⇒ 9x² – 6x + 3x – 2 = 0

⇒ 3x (3x – 2) + 1(3x – 2) = 0

⇒ (3x – 2)(3x + 1) = 0

Now, either 3x – 2 = 0 ⇒ x = \(\frac{2}{3}\)

Or, 3x + 1= 0 ⇒ x = \(\frac{-1}{3}\)

Thus, the roots of the given quadratic equation are x = \(\frac{2}{3}\) and x = \(\frac{-1}{3}\) respectively.
