Answer» Solution :FLUORINE attacks all metals including including copper. In the PREPARATION of fluorine gas electrolysis is carried out in the copper velssel.Copper reacts with fluorineto FORM stable copper fluoride. This coppper fluoride so formed acts as a PROTECTIVE LAYER against further corrosion of copper.
