x = 2 

Since p(x) is exactly divisible by (x – 2) 

p(2) = 2(23) – k(22) + 3(2)+ 10 

= 16 – 4k + 6 + 10

= 32 – 4k = 0 

= -k = -32 

k = 32/4 = 8.
