Answer» It cannot be denied that a Bombay-bred girl found a suffocating atmosphere in the tradition bound haveli of Udaipur, the entire day. She was ridiculed for not knowing how to touch the feet of elders. She had to veil her face. Her husband could not meet her at will. She could not talk to her father-in-law directly. But her education, her power of adjustment and her in-laws’ love gave her the courage to overcome all the odds. इससे इंकार नहीं किया जा सकता कि बाम्बे में पली बड़ी एक लड़की ने उदयपुर की परम्पराओं में जकड़ी हवेली में एक दम घुटने वाला वातावरण पाया। उसका मजाक उड़ाया गया कि वह बड़ों के चरण स्पर्श करना भी नहीं जानती है। उसे घूघट निकाल कर रहना पड़ा। उसके पति उससे अपनी मर्जी के मुताबिक नहीं मिल सकते थे। वह सीधे अपने ससुर से बात नहीं कर सकती थी। परन्तु उसकी शिक्षा, उसकी सामंजस्य बनाने की शक्ति तथा ससुरालियों के प्यार ने उसे विपरीत परिस्थितियों को पराजित करने की हिम्मत दी। |
