Answer» 1. Peninsular Plateau is the oldest landmass of India. 2. It lies to the south of the Plains of North. 3. Its shape is of an inverted triangle. 4. It is surrounded by sea from three sides. Hence, it is called a Peninsular plateau. 5. Most of the part of this plateau lies in southern India. Hence, it is also called ‘ Southern Plateau ’. 6. Average height of this plateau is about 600 to 900 metres. 7. The northern part of this plateau has north-eastern slope which is evident from the flow of Chambal, Son and Damodar rivers. 8. The southern part slopes towards south-east. |
