Answer» (i) Earlier the average life expectancy in India was low due to, lack of medical facilities which lead to high incidence of diseases and epidemics like chicken pox, malaria, cholera, etc. (ii) Today with improvement in access to medical facilities and improvement in technology, diseases and epidemics are controlled. (iii) Also today people in India have an improved standard of living, they eat nutritious food and there is awareness of good health. All this has led to increase in average life expectancy in India.
