Answer» nswer : During CHEMICAL reaction, atoms are not created not destroyed, they are just REARRANGED from the REACTANTS to form the products. This is the reason for constant mass in a chemical reaction. Note the below points or cases:- In a closed system [Nothing EXTRA (other than the reactants) can get into and Nothing can escape] , if a chemical reaction occurs, then mass will REMAIN constant.- But if a chemical reaction is completed in an Open system, Mass changes may occur. Usually, these Mass changes only occur when gas is being released into the atmosphere or a gas from the atmosphere is being used as reactants. These change in mass allows scientists to monitor the rate of reaction. |
