| Answer» IE means min amt of energy required to remove an e- from isolated gaseous atom. For eg Na if we remove an e- from it. It will have 10 e-s . 1s2 2s2 2p6 which is an stable e- configuration so we will require large amt of energy to remove 2nd e- and so on. Therefore IE3 >IE2> IE1. I think u got it. | |
