Give the meaning of 'procedure' and 'rule' as types of plans.

(a) Procedure: A Procedure is a series of steps that make up a chronological sequence, as an established way of performing the work to be accomplished. It gives a sequence to complete a work. For example, Procedure for selection of the candidates includes the following steps: Preliminary Screening, Selection Test, Employment interview, Selection decision, Medical examination, Employment contract, Induction and placement.

(b) Rule: Rules are specific statements that inform what is to be done and what is not to be done. They do not allow for any flexibility or discretion. They are to discipline human behaviour and generally associated with certain disciplinary action.
