Hi there ! please in the electrolysis of sodium acetate what is the interaction on the anode ? |
|
Answer» ch3coo negative ion will move towards anode Explanation: as anode is always positive so neg part of sodium acetate will move towards anode and oxidation will TAKE place at anode .i.e. acetate ion will lose 1 electron and change to ch3coo (no CHARGE) and this ch3coo will convert into ch3 and co2 and also ch3 is not STABLE alone so will combine with another ch3 and form ETHANE. |
