1. the eastern coastal plains is located between eastern ghats and bay of bengal where as western coastal plains is located between western ghats and Arabian sea.
2. eastern coastal plains are broader and relatively dry where as western coastal plains are NARROW and wet.
3. more lagoons are formed in the southern PART of the western coastal plains . in eastern coastal plains few lagoons are formed.
4. western coastal plains extends from GUJARAT in the NORTH to Kerela in the south. eastern coastal plains extends from westbengal in the north to Tamil nadu in the south.
similarities:
1. both are coastal plains i.e. area between land and water.
2. they are seperated from the interior of the larger land MASS by other unique features like eastern and western ghats in this case.
