Answer» Geeta started teaching with a single boy, Ravi. After two days more boys and girls from the servants’ quarters came up to join the classes. The children listened to Geeta’s stories and then learned the alphabet. Soon the young maids from the havelies came and joined the children. Gradually they found the alphabet easy to learn. But Dhápu felt that the married maids and the maids having children could never learn. गीता ने एक लड़के रवि को पढ़ाना शुरू कर दिया। दो दिन के बाद नौकरों के क्वार्टर्स में और अधिक लड़के और लड़कियों ने आना शुरू कर दिया। बच्चे गीता से कहानियां सुनते थे और तत्पश्चात् अक्षर ज्ञान प्राप्त करते थे। शीघ्र ही दूसरी हवेलियों से युवा सेविकाएं आती थीं और बच्चों में शामिल हो जाती थीं। धीमे-धीमे उन्हें अक्षर सीखना सरल लगा। परन्तु धापू को लगा कि विवाहित और बच्चों वाली कभी नहीं सीख सकती थीं। |
