All the other suitors were astonished at Sindhu’s success and they were very much disappointed at their own failure. One of them cried aloud that Sindhu’s success was an error of destiny. He said that God was playing tricks with the family of the landowner. Not ready to believe in the success of the peasant a suitor went to the extent of saying that it was the curse of God not blessing. But when Sindhu replied them that it was not a curse but a triumph of faith, love and patience, all the disappointed and angry suitors became silent.

अन्य सभी विवाहेच्छुक सिन्धु की सफलता पर आश्चर्यचकित थे और वे अपनी असफलता से बेहद निराश थे। उनमें से एक तेज आवाज में चिल्लाया कि यह भाग्य की गलती है। उसने कहा कि परमात्मा जमींदार के परिवार से कोई चाल खेल रहा है। उस किसान की सफलता पर विश्वास न करते हुए एक विवाहेच्छुक प्रतिभागी तो यह कहने की हद तक कर देता है कि यह भगवान का आशीर्वाद नहीं बल्कि श्राप है। लेकिन सिन्धु ने उन सबको यह जवाब दिया कि यह कोई श्राप नहीं बल्कि विश्वास, प्रेम और धैर्य की विजय है तो सारे निराश और क्रोधित विवाहेच्छुक प्रतिनिधि शान्त हो गए।
