Answer» The feast and the festivity at Sangram Singh’s haveli was the talk of the town. After all everyone from the relatives to the family barber had been invited to the festivities. They knew that the lands of the nobility had been forfeited and the days of feudal generosity were over. Still Sangram Singhji had shown generosity to invite even those who had served the haveli in the past. This surpised the people. संग्राम सिंह जी की हवेली में जो दावत और गाना बजाना हुआ वह नगर के लिये एक चर्चा का विषय था। आखिरकार सम्बन्धियों से लेकर पारिवारिक नाई तक को इस खुशी पर आमन्त्रित किया गया था। लोग जानते थे कि सामन्तों की जमीनें छीन ली गई हैं और सामन्तों की उदारता के दिन अब समाप्त हो गये हैं। फिर भी संग्राम सिंह जी ने उन लोगों को भी आमन्त्रित करके अपनी उदारता दिखाई जिन्होंने हवेली की प्राचीन समय में सेवा की। थी। इससे लोग अचंभित थे। |
