As the TECHNOLOGY was not as developed as it is today so, they had only two ways -

 1- the land

 2- the sea ROUTE

                SINCE the land route was FULL of dangerous paths and it also took more time and money, the TRADERS generally used the sea route as it was cheaper and took less time as compared to the land
