How do Bernoulli\'s principle helps in explaining dynamic lift? |
Answer» In the case of a clockwise spinning ball, the relative velocity of air with respect to the ball would be GREATER (velocities are antiparallel) than that below the ball. As a result, as per the Bernoulli\'s principle (P ~ 1/V), pressure below would be GREATER than pressure above the ball. Consequently, the ball shows a slight deflection in its path towards the upper direction (passive movements occur from high pressure to low pressure). This phenomenon of deviation is known as DYNAMIC LIFT. | |
