How do grasses reproduce? |
|
Answer» Grass can reproduce asexually via spreading root systems, but they can also spread sexually via flowers. Those fluffy tops you see when you don't cut the lawn are grass flowers. They don't look much because they are wind pollinated and do not need to attract insects. Once those fluffy tops have been pollinated, they grow into seed heads. We usually don't see any of this because we keep our lawns mowed. |
