| Answer» CHERRY blossoms are the flowers . They are not leaves. Once , they fall ; the green CHLOROPHYLL , containing leaves appear . These leaves perform photosynthesis which generates and stores energy ; allowing the trees to PRODUCE the flowers and the fruits , the following year; even the leaves are dropped....These trees are deciduous....So they drop their dead leaves in the winter in the early spring....They appear and then for usually within a week for the leaves COME out .... During this time , these trees appear completely white or pinkish....
